Comp Bank

Tom Bennett - First on the left

There's a nice little bank in play for the competitors at the Manly Longboard Classic. It's the same bank that's been there all week only the swell's switched from east to south. Perfect day to sit at the beach, watch a few heats and have a paddle on one of the banks getting a bit more swell further north.

Tully White and Declan Wyton had a strong showings in their respective opening heats while crowd favourite JJ Tualima put together a smartly surfed heat only to get pipped for third place. As the youngest competition in the field he's got plenty of blue sky ahead of him. There's no webcast but you can keep track of the scores at the WSL event page

There's a bit of excited chatter for the potential of a large south swell for early next week but models are mixed; I guess we'll have to wait and see. In the mean time, looks like pleasant sunshine, light offshores and a smallish south swell for the weekend. Lovely.
