It would pay to have some insights into crowd behaviour/psychology to be a surfer these days. This morning I was left scratching my head with how many people were in the line up already by 6am; a morning of overcast conditions, light drizzle and bumpy surface conditions. Compare that to yesterday when the light was nice and the wind offshore, you could count the surfers in the water at 6am on 2 hands. Maybe it's the underlying long-period south swell, or maybe it's just that it's Wednesday. Go figure.

There is a little more size in the mix this morning. It's shoulder-to-head-high, bumpy with clean faces... looked pretty fun if you could snag one from the crowd.
