Temperate

Outlook

Feels quiet around the beaches at the moment. Is everyone out of town? It's too early for Europe and too late for Japan... has everyone's gone to Bali or y'all camping up the coast? Maybe everyone's had their fill of waves the last few weeks and work has been nudged up the priority list. We've had a decent run of waves of late and this week the forecast is on the mediocre side.

While the waves might not be pumping the weather couldn't be better. The light autumn morning westerlies have set in and it's clear, crisp and temperate at dawn, perfect for a beach walk or swim.  This morning I took a walk around the Freshie Headland. The rock pool on the headland is one of the busiest on The Beaches with serious swimmers doing laps well before the sun's up. There's also a beautiful new sculpture paying tribute to the area's indigenous past.

Waves? There's still swell around although much of what I saw was pretty straight. Probably a touch better up a couple of beaches.

Right now Tully White and Declan Wyton are representing Australia at the ISA World Longboard Championships in El Salvador. It's a little harder to tune into than your usual WSL event and you'll have to be up early but the Aussie contingent is still in the mix.
