Sand Life
They take their sand pretty seriously up here. It’s the life blood of the Gold Coast, drawing in tourists, protecting the beachfront developments and feeding a population of hungry surfers.
Right now, thanks to the Gold Coast City Council’s huge sand pumping barge, the banks are in A1 condition.
Seems like there’s a bank every 500m along the open beaches and the Superbank at snapper is ruler straight from Snapper through to Coolangatta. Best banks I’ve seen in a long while. Yeah I had some fun waves, but I reckon I’ll be booking a flight back at the first sniff of a proper swell…. for now though, it’s time to head back to Sydney.
This evening I’m going to be part of a panel discussing the practice of photography as part of Lululemon’s This Is Yoga Series. The event starts at 6pm at Warringah Mall – come join the discussion. All the details here
