16 K's of Squeaky White Sand
I’m on the Gold Coast again this week for a little bit of work and a little bit of family time.
I grew up on the Northern end of the Gold Coast surfing the beach breaks mostly between The Spit and Mermaid Beach and I have to say, it’s still one of my favourite places to surf.
Sure, the Southern Points of Burleigh, Kirra and Snapper are world-class waves and get all the attention. But, on days like today when there’s a light offshore and just a smallish South-East swell running, there’s a bank on just about every street up this end of the Goldy. 16 kilometres of unbroken white sand between Nobby’s and The Spit that spreads the crowd nice and thin.
Pick a street, check the banks, paddle out, go surfing! That’s my kind of set-up!

That bank'll do! Heaps of these around up here at the moment.
