Just an hour and a half's flight and measly eight hour drive from the coral atolls of the Maldives lies the East Coast of the island nation of Sri Lanka. The East Coast is blessed with a natural sand movement that fills the bays and rocky outcrops with an abundance of sand each summer offering up an myriad of super fun sandbanks and points. I'm here a little early for the sand but when you're so close it's hard to pass up a side trip. I met up with a couple of travelling Australian's Rachel & Joel for a tuk tuk exploration down the coast yesterday morning.

I been watching the news and social feeds coming out of Sydney since that East Coast Low bomb went off. Sounds like some serious damage and historic swell - bummed I missed the swell part! Take care out there.
