Back?
Morning. Back on the tools? Or hanging out in holiday mode wondering whether work would be a better option right now?
It's been something of a sombre summer; a far cry from the usual jovial summer vibe that Sydney steps into every January. Almost everyone I've talked to this year has had a personal encounter with fire; a holiday cancelled, close call or friend that's lost a property.
In the last week or so there's been an overwhelming movement of people from Australia and around the planet looking to help bushfire victims where they can. I've given to WIRES but there's plethora of places where your donation can directly help including Red Cross Disaster Relief RSPCA or the RFS. The crew from Stowaway are hosting the Freshy Help Out next Wednesday from 4pm. It's going to be a huge community fundraising effort so get involved and and turn up early!
This morning Sydney is clogged with smoke once again. There's been a little rain but not enough. If you're up for a paddle, there's a little bit of east swell and light winds... surfable for sure.
Stay safe - do good. See you out early tomorrow.
