How good are long weekends; even better when there's waves. We had a decent couple of days here and I bet those that ventured further afield would have scored something solid, clean and fun. What were we celebrating yesterday? Was it the NRL? The Queen? Workers? Not sure but cheers! This morning the swell's hanging in although there's a fair bit of lump and bump; finding a good one looked tricky.

Today's the first working day with an hour truncated from our morning. Sure we'll get it back for the sunset session but it'll probably be onshore by then. Sunrise this morning was at 6:29am; we'll claw a minute or two back every day until the summer solstice... I'm a fan of the early.

Manly longboarders Declan Wyton and Tully White will be surfing in the Cuervo Classic Malibu Longboard Championship which is set to kick off today Californian time. The contest won't start 'til 1am our time but it might be worth a peek when you wake up tomorrow morning.
