Strange Summer - Revisit
This past summer was a strange one to say the least. As bushfire's blazed up and down the Eastern seaboard, the view through my lens became constantly tinted bushfire brown as sunrises and sunsets displayed a dark alluring beauty observed with a tinge of guilt.
In Sydney, life went on punctuated with stories from friends and family that had experiences from the bushfires; close calls, damaged property, ruined holidays, political opinions. We surfed fun waves; the NE wind eventually set in and the sun emerged from the smoke and it looked like a Sydney Summer for a brief moment. Then rain came in buckets; some of the heaviest I can remember; a couple of storm swells and now the beach is lined with charred bush and seaweed. It was a summer like no other...
If you're interested in the weather that unfolded this summer, take a look at Craig's summer wrap published on Swellnet. It's detailed and interesting.
