What You Doing?
It's hard to know what the right thing to do is these days. There's a lot of opinions and mixed messages out there. What's our moral obligation as individuals and as a community while the virus continues to spread? Go to the beach for a little fresh air? Have a paddle to stretch the muscles? Sit on the sand an allow the eyes a little time to stare at the horizon? Maybe there's no harm in me doing it solo, but what about the collective mass of solo surfers, runners and beach goers?
Our neighbours across the Tasman have joined the list of countries to go into full "lockdown". The Raglan Surfing Community have agreed that means no surfing. Reckon we should be joining in with kind of restrictions? You might be surprised to know that the Northern Beaches has the third highest number of COVID-19 cases in NSW and the most affected demographic nation-wide is women ages 20-29.
For now, I'm going to retreat, stay indoors and make my bubble a little smaller. Take care, take caution.
