Double Take

Queenscliff Creek

The waves were cooking this morning. I was shooting reflections of the sunrise when this set came through at North Steyne, peaked and a-framed away a hollow left and perfectly tapered right. I had to double-take and have a glance at the back of the camera. I thought it might have been a freak set but sure enough, they kept coming and with reasonable frequency. Maybe I was looking at the wrong charts but I wasn't expecting a swell today; a very pleasant surprise indeed!

The sun's out and the water's cleaning up. Even the lagoon at Queenscliff looked inviting today as the tide was pushing in some fresh sea-water. Good news for humans and dogs alike.

The rain's coming back later in the week so soak up the sunshine and clean water while you can.
