Survey

Not how I left it

Morning. I took a survey of the beach between Queenscliff and North Steyne over the weekend and boy have things changed! The lagoon has broken free, the beaches have been stripped of a huge quantity of sand and the narrow strip of sand that remains is strewn with organic and inorganic matter from full logs to micro plastics. It's a vastly different scene than the one I left a prior to departing just a couple of weeks ago. It sure demonstrates the power and force of nature in spite of our best efforts to control it.

From what I'm told the water is cleaning up although it's still a deep shade of green. We've got 2-3ft of SSE swell and some clean little waves with a light morning offshore. ItI reckon it'll take some time to get my bearings to work out what banks are working on what tide, so much sand has moved; looks like some potential though.

Have a good start to the week. It's nice to be home.
