If there's one thing that we've come to learn this year, it's that change can happening rapidly. But, it's been in the slower, quieter moments that deeper change has taken hold. A timeline of our collective attention in 2020 is etched with new global precedents in human and environmental devastation; while our individual attention has narrowed to the things we can effect to make an impact to our friends and neighbours. While we might not have been able to travel overseas, we've found the simply joys of travelling over the hill instead and the importances of our local coffee shop, restaurant, bakers, traders and service providers. It feels weird to say, but it's kind of a fitting end to 2020 that we've been forced to slow down and sit for a moment in contemplation of the year that has been.

We live in a very special part of the world. The natural beauty on our doorstep is phenomenal and in every sense we should feel compelled to take care of it. It's a simple concept, we're all custodians of our neighbourhood, our nations and the planet. Our actions make an impact. Same goes for community. In the lead up to Christmas and well beyond, support local where you can.

Thank you to everyone that gets these emails, even it's it's just for the pictures. Thank you to everyone that's purchased a print this year, it's always so gratifying to have someone decide to print my work. And the biggest thank you to the community of surfers, swimmers, walkers and locals that indulge me as I lurk in the background shooting their daily rituals. All that action in the morning is a very cool thing to be part of.

Oh, and a very big thank you to Huey for bringing the waves everytime we go into lockdown! You probably already know, but it's kinda pumping out there today!
