It was a mixed bag out there this morning. A little colour to light up dawn and a heap of short period wind swell pushing across the bank. If you surfed and found yourself struggling to paddle out in 1 foot waves you're not along. The energy pushing across the sandbank had the force of a swell twice the size - I found myself washed back to shore more than a few times. It was tiring!

The waves might be high frequency but it's not exactly pumping. Drop your expectations, go out for the pure enjoyment of being in the ocean and you might just score a couple of bonus runners. The weekend surf outlook is much the same; small short-period swell with the most favourable winds on Sunday morning.
