Not Pretty

Shrinking Sand

Oh man, it's not pretty out there this morning. According to the Bureau, an East Coast Low will slowly move down the coast packing plenty of rain and strong onshore winds, much of it to hit Sydney late today. The beaches are a write-off today and tomorrow the swell is forecast to double. I suspect we'll see plenty of beach erosion and localised flooding.

What we're seeing here is minimal compared to the devastating floods unfolding in SE Queensland and the Northern Rivers where some areas are reporting of a metre of rain in 48 hours! Crazy! Social media is showing scenes of locals rescuing neighbours in convoys of tinnies and kayaks as flood waters breach the rooflines of houses, shops and apartment buildings. So much damaged - it's going to be a mammoth clean up effort.

HELP - Local store Bow & Arrow are collecting essential items such as clothing and food to be sent north later in the week. Drop off is at their Whistler Street store by Thursday afternoon if you'd like to help out.

Take care
