The Pod
All of the excitement this morning was happening underwater. There was a large pod of dolphins patrolling the line up between the headlands at Freshwater Beach, swimming under surfers, catching the odd wave (there weren't too many) and chatting profusely amongst themselves. The dolphin talk was fully audible underwater, a squeaky song almost as high-pitched as the grommets excited squeals above. It's challenging shooting blindly underwater without googles but I managed to rattle off a few frames - wish I had a pair of goggles handy!
The swells hanging around at an inconsistent 2-4ft from the south and a lightish onshore is the feathering the edges. Not nearly as exciting as swimming with dolphins!
Have a good one and if you're into photography, register and tune into tonight's Nikon Showcase, The Early Risers
