Warm Up
Dawn Patrol
The south swell has faded but there was no shortage of energy up at the WSL contest bank. Compared to the last couple of mornings, North Narrabeen was looking placid. No nasty backwash or heaving closeouts, just a should-high peak and a dozen or so of the world best surfers and their entourage taking in the sunrise.
It's amazing the speed and projection these 'CT guys and girls can generate in small waves. Where you and I would be pumping, the best in thew world are doing full rail roundhouse cutbacks and projecting into the next section with more speed than you could think possible. It's a sight to see with your own eyes.
There's a nice looking bump of south swell on the charts for Saturday - waiting period starts on Friday.
