On Repeat
Morning! These sensational winter days are on repeat; we're heading for 21˚ today, 22˚ tomorrow and a top of 23˚ on Saturday. Add to that light winds and sunshine and winter ain't too hard to navigate in Sydney.
Yesterday we had a decent little bump in south swell. By midday there were three footers across the exposed beaches quenching the surf-thirst of school-holiday grommets the length of The Beaches. This morning it's dipped but there's still a couple of fun shoulder-to-waist-high waves about on a friendlier early morning tide.
Two things of note happening on the World Surf League.
Firstly, the Jeffrey's Bay contest is kicking off today in South Africa. It's always one of my favourite events to watch and I think the forecast is looking decent.
Secondly, Manly locals Declan Wyton and Tully White are jetting off to the US to compete in the first tour stop of the World Longboard Tour at the end of this month. Declan finished #4 in world last year while Tully finished #8. To help cover some of the expenses associated with competing, the local community has rallied a bunch of epic prize (two surfboards up for grabs!) to be raffled off next week. Get yourself a handful of tickets here - winners drawn at the Round Bar Hotel Steyne next Thursday.
