Summer Bay

Morning! Happy New Year and happy holidays to you! It's been a mixed bag of weather since we last spoke; perfect warm summer weather for the Christmas-New Year period followed by some persistent wet humid days. All the while the ocean has remained mostly dormant. We've had the odd little moment of waves here and there, but it's been more summer fun than anything of particular merit.

This morning we've got classic summer conditions; a light northerly and junky short-period nor'east wind swell. The morning air is warm and the ocean temperature even warmer at 23 degrees. The reward is the process not necessarily the outcome.

As usual, the post's will be intermittent for January as we all find our feet in Twenty-Twenty-Five. The first real pulse of energy on our stretch of coast may push in late this week. It's coming with a heap of wind and as such quality could be off. Worth keeping an eye on developments.

If you missed out on getting a 2025 Sprout Daily wall calendar under the Christmas Tree, I've still got a couple of boxes left. Order online for shipping or local pick up.
