Zero to 10ft
What an extraordinary morning! At 8am it was 0-1ft and hardly breaking at Queenscliff, you might have struggled on a longboard. You might have been calling "hoax". Two hours later, the swell just clicked in and the all of a sudden there were 10 footers marching across the horizon with raw force. The wind's is wild, the waves are huge and the forecasters nailed it.
With 50km/h winds your options for surfing are limited and depend on your definition of 'surfable'. From what I saw your options look like this:
Triple-overhead slabs of raw Tasman energy
or head-and-half refracted closeouts in the corner
stay inside, warm, dry and cosy and watch the WSL
Choice is yours.
