:: The Joey
Classy day out there right now, perfect for a drive up to the end of The Peninsular. Barrenjoey Headland is Sydney's most northern point, home to generations of old salts and Sydney's well heeled as well as the fictional Summer Bay.The lighthouse on the headland was build in 1881 from sandstone quarried onsite along with the lighthouse keeper's cottage. The original lighthouse keeper, George Mulhall, loved the place so much he's couldn't leave; his grave is just beyond the lighthouse! On a day like today you can see why - the views are special over the Tasman and The Pittwater.
Right now the sun's up and it's a perfect 22 in and out of the water. Surfing is barely an option but getting in the water is a must - get the early ferry!
