Surfing Suits
The suits have converged on Queenscliff Beach this morning for the SurfAid Tag Team Corporate Cup. This is a major fundraiser for SurfAid International and a chance for the corporates to kick off the Friday long lunch at breakfast. 2 x World Champ Tom Carroll, ASP Tour competitors Richie Lovett & Jarred Howse, Legends Rob Bain and Simon Anderson are all down on the beach helping out the corporate teams. Goldman Sachs were on fire in the first heat of the day with local ripper and Queenscliff Boardriders Club Champ Ben Hamilton tearing the back out of some clean waves on his home break. Tommy Carroll will be one to watch later in the day when he takes to the water for Perpetual Surf Team who raised over $20,000 to earn first draft pick of the pros. Before the Corporate Cup kicked off there were some fun waves on offer down at North Steyne. The sky did all sorts of transitions this morning from a gentle pink sunrise through to a quilted sky with sunlight pouring through. It was almost better watching than the surfing! This weekend we're going to see a mid-size South Swell fill in with a light Northerly wind and mostly warm sunshine. Should be a cracker!
