:: Spirit Of Akasha Screening

This Saturday night there will be a special screening of Spirit Of Akasha along with a musical set performed by filmmaker Andrew Kidman at the Old Manly Boat Shed.   The film was made as a celebration of 40 years of Morning Of The Earth and Kidman treatment honours the original ethos of spirit and soul in surfing. Spirit Of Akasha was launched last year at a sellout show at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney Festival and the film has toured the globe since then screening at film festivals and surfing festival alike.

“Being involved in the creative process of honouring Morning of the Earth in a modern way has been a wonderful experience.  Listening to and watching the offerings from the different musicians and film makers as they submitted their homage’s to Albert Falzon’s 1972 masterpiece was one of the most inspiring things I have ever been involved in.” says filmaker Andrew Kidman

The film features surfers Mick Fanning , Stephanie Gilmore , Tom Curren , Ellis Ericson, Beau Young , Harrison Roach and many more all accompanied by an amazing soundtrack featuring Matt Corby, Ben Howard , Pond , Dirty Three , Angus Stone , Xavier Rudd , Brian Wilson ,  Andrew Kidman among many others.

As part of the evening Andrew will be performing an acoustic set prior to the screening of the film and will be around following to talk to all those interested in discovering more about this great new film.
