Today's going to be scorcher in Sydney. How many times have we withered in heat this summer? It's a mild 28 right now but when the Westerly wind kicks and shifts that hot interior air over us we're going to bake - 38 degrees top on the coast and who knows how much hotter inland.

The good news is that same hairdryer-hot wind should polish up a pretty unruly Tasman. The swell's pushed around to the East a touch but there's still plenty of energy left, the most we've seen all summer. First light was bumpy but give the offshore an hour to work on it and the tide some time to drop and we might be sitting real pretty!
