:: Procession

I don't think I can remember a time where I've walked out of the house at 5:30am and thought to myself, "wow it's hot already!"  We're pretty lucky living by the ocean because we tend to avoid the most extremes of hot (and cold). But this morning was different. It was a genuine 30+ degrees by the time I hit the water 15 minutes before sunrise - no wonder it was hard to sleep last night! The beach was a procession of swimmers and surfers this morning. One after the other, we all filed out of bed and and fell into the ocean to wash off a sleepless night and cool the core ready to melt again. How lucky we are to have the ocean on our doorstep!

Today's top was forecast to be 40 degrees but it doesn't look like we'll make it; the Southerly's kicked in and just hovering over 30. It's still hot but at least we're not melting.
