There may not be any swell but it was a morning you'd be thanking yourself for getting up and out the door early. Sometimes the sun and clouds combine so perfectly you couldn't plan light like it in a studio.  Perfect light requires equal parts dark and light and this morning was a rich combination of each.

The sky had some exception colours fill in as the sun rose followed by some rich bright sunlight with just enough dark cloud overhead to create a perfect contrast.   Some mighty fine work by the lighting assistant in nature's studio!

While we're flatlining here, Jeffery's Bay in South Africa is on fire! Yesterday's session had just about everything - a perfect heat, a handful of 10's, pumping waves and a shark scare.   Catch up here before it kicks off again this afternoon.

We might have some swell tomorrow!  I think we're ready!
