New York Air Show
Conditions were super clean early this morning at New York's Long Beach with a punchy 4 foot plus of hurricane swell pushing through. The early heats were a carve fest on the clean open faces and Parko even managed to slip beneath a throwing lip and score the first barrel of the competition. But by mid-morning a light onshore breeze and some punchy ramps had turned conditions into the perfect a Air Show. If you're only going to watch one heat today, check out Heat 2 of Round Four . It was a hair raiser with some of the most technical aerial surfing displays I've witnessed in a contest. Josh Kerr, down and out in Combo-land, pulled off two single maneuver 9+ wave scores to beat Slater in the final minutes.Pretty epic heat!
Waves are supposed to really good here in New York tomorrow and all the aerial specialists are through to the quaters; Slater, Kerr, Taj, Wilson and Wright and three very hungry Brazilians. Should be fireworks! You can watch the webcast live online
The weekend is looking good back in Manly. Enjoy some offshores and a solid South Swell!
