Later Summer

High Cloud Entry

It might be farewell to summer on the calendar but I get the feeling it'll be a long and drawn out goodbye. The water feels like it's at an all-time warmth and there's a band of hot air moving up the continent which will see Sydney back in the mid 30's next week. Once all the nation-wide stat's are added up I think we're going to see this summer go down as the hottest on record.

This morning things were a little slow out on the water. The swell's lost a little bit of yesterday's energy and the higher-tide was weighing down what what was left of it. Even still, with a sky full of interesting clouds and the water sitting at 25 degrees, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to start the day.

Couple of things you might be interested in:

  • This Sunday Surfrider Foundation is hosing a "Paddle Out at The House" Join Tom Carroll, Bob Bain and Simon Anderson to show Sydney surfers care about the plight of out oceans. All the details here

  • You've probably seen "Fight For The Bight" float across your social media calling for surfers to submit their concerns about Norwegian company Equinor's plans to drill for oil in the Southern Ocean. Get up to date and take action here.
