Excited? Oh yeah the big guy in the red suit is coming soon, silly season is fully swinging, school holidays are ramping up, those late afternoon summer thunderstorms are in our midst and yessssss the weekend is swiftly descending upon us. Oh, and did I mention there's swell on the way? But you already knew that right! Everyone's a little bit excited, oh it's a fun time. We might get some waves, let's hope the wind's kind to us...

This morning was a confused jumble of wind swell and really weird sand banks.  For low-tide, it was breaking like high-tide with barely enough push for even the widest of surf craft. The banks were so strange that 5 metres from shore I was up to my neck in water while someone waded out in ankle deep water 5 metres to the north of me. Talk about gutters! Check back when the tides up a bit....
