:: Bright & Early
There was a light Northerly adding a slight bump to the surface conditions at dawn this morning, not that there's much surf for the bump to affect. There's about the same amount of swell as yesterday but it's out of the SSE so you'll need to find somewhere with a little more exposure to South Swell if you're up for a slide. I hung out down at South Steyne this morning to take in the hive of activity that kicks off well before dawn each morning. It's really quite inspiring to see the regulars getting into their daily routine. If you've been at your desk since 8am I hope you had a chance to tune in a watch the final of the Billabong Pro Tahiti. Amazing final with Parko sitting pretty on a score of 18+ from the outset and as the heat progress he looked like he might have had the title in the bag. But you got the feeling Mick was sitting and waiting for exactly the waves he wanted to score the points he knew he needed to win the thing; and he did just that with minutes remaining! Mick was the standout surfer of the event so it's fitting he's the first Aussie to win in Tahiti since Occy took the title in 1999. Congratulations Mick!
Cheers to everyone that's jumped onboard with the Pozible Project so far. Almost reached the target amount and I can almost feel the vibrancy of New York City coming on!
