Beau's Journal - Entry #1 "It's been a long time since I've thought about my own surfing or competing as I'm usually helping other surfers get ready for their events. I'm feeling a mixed bag of emotions, excitement because of the opportunity but also nervous because the pressure I put on myself to perform at my best.

I was at the beach at 5:30am this morning which is nothing new except I was suiting up and not getting the video camera out to film. My boards this morning felt good and I'm slowly getting my timing and confidence back with each surf. It's quite a strange feeling knowing what you have to do competitively but having had no real warm up for one of the biggest events in Australia it's quite daunting.

Tomorrow I'm heading to manly for some heat practice and surf my boards on the contest bank. I'll let you all know how I go... "
