About Yesterday...

Freshwater - Looking a little like Byron

Freshwater - Looking a little like Byron

Well, wasn't yesterday a special one?! It's not often all the elements come together but the confluence of a fresh spike of East swell and all day offshore winds is bound to create something memorable.  At noon, before the swell really kicked, Freshwater was doing its best impersonation of Byron Bay with crystal clear water and the odd long right hander under the cliff. It was a tropical scene hard to place within the Sydney metropolis.

By late afternoon the East swell had set in and Manly was serving up left and right peaks and a bag load of straight ones in between. Maybe there was too much sand; maybe the tide was too low,  But there were some epic ones and like one local said to me, the best waves at Manly are the closeouts that you make!

Enjoy a wrap of yesterday.
