There's something about Friday's right now. Maybe it's a spring thing, maybe it's just a coincidence but the first two Friday's of October have been sensational days. Last week I took to the air and shot from a heli 1000ft above Manly looking perfect (more photos from that soon), this morning the wind's offshore and the waves are just about as fun as they get on our little stretch of sand. 

It's 2 to 3 foot with the odd 4 footer, a perfect swell direction and as clean as it's gets. My head was spinning shooting perfect rights down the beach, then a perfect left would peak up off the pipe! What a morning! 

My plan was actually to take the week off shooting but this morning I couldn't resist. People ask me how it feels when the surf's pumping and I'm sitting in the impact zone with a camera in my hand, wouldn't I prefer to be surfing? Truth is I'm still definitely torn between surfing and shooting but I've gotten better at simply enjoying what I'm doing in the moment and focusing one that. Both activities give me a heap of joy...

Ok, time for me to go chase a couple of waves myself.
