Catch Up

Early

Morning! It's been a couple of days since I've put a post up online. Monday's sunrise was a dark and moody one (i kinda like those ones) while yesterday we had a slow burn of pink just before the showers came in overhead. If you tune in via Instagram, hopefully the algorithm has served you up those sunrise images from Monday and Tuesday.

You never really know what you're going to get with the light in the morning; it's what gets me up and out of bed. But one thing is for certain, the sun is rising later and later right now. Official sunrise today was 6:55am although it was later than that thanks to some clouds out on the horizon. The first glimpse of light at Freshwater Beach was around 7:10 when the sun started reflecting off the buildings and cliffs on the southern side. The windows create a giant reflector casting golden light across the water and sand; it's quite a spectacle!

The waves weren't looking amazing at first light today; the ocean had a light ruffle on it and the tide was low... heaps of straight ones, the odd ok one. I'd say it'd be worth another look around about now... tide's on the push, the wind's still light and there's enough swell around. Have a good one!
