Today is the day summer forgot. We had warm over the summer, but today's going to be proper hot! We're headed for 38 degrees in Sydney and only a touch cooler on the coastal fringes. It'll be the hottest day in a couple of years so you're going to feel every bit of the warmth. Better plan an afternoon under some shade and in close proximity to the water.

Yesterday's gusty nor'easter has blown up a punchy serving of wind swell. It's 3ft+, cross-shore and fun; these kind of wind swells don't hang around too long so get in while you can. Should be some west angle to the wind soon too.

Stay cool and enjoy the first hot day in ages.
