Sea Life

Full Moon & Jupiter (?)

The sea life in and around Sydney has been abundant lately; whales, dolphins, fish and birdlife everywhere on a daily basis. Maybe it's full moon, maybe it's all the planets lining up on the same side of the sun? This morning I believe it was Jupiter that was hanging out near the full moon as it set. You can just see the spot above the chimney on the photo above - see it?

We had a big pod of dolphins hanging out back for the full two hours that I was shooting this morning. They weren't surfing, just cruising doing laps of the bay, curiously checking in on the surfers and swimmers every now and then.  I wonder what they make of us weird looking mammals dangling half in the water?

The south swell is up but most of the energy is going straight past Manly. If you're chasing something solid the south-facing beaches must be a good double or triple Manly's high tide offering at first light this morning. Either way, it's a beautiful day out there - enjoy it!!
