Another day, another summery smoked filtered sunrise. Beautiful maybe but the scary reality of these sunrises and sunsets is starting to sink in. No matter which way the wind blows smoke is coming our way as fires burn to the south, north and on Sydney's western doorstep. The footage emerging from last night's fire in Menai was scary stuff!

There's a little bit of south swell hanging about today. It's 2ft, a little wonky and the nor'easter will probably add some chop to that throughout the day. Still, with heat and humidity mixed with smoke, the ocean is pure and simple refreshment. Immerse yourself, get some saline in the nasal cavity and enjoy!
