Day Four - SurFebruary

Day Four - SurFebruary

This morning might not have been the best day for a photo shoot, but it was probably the ideal day to showcase the spirit of SurFebruary. If you haven't heard of it, SurFebruary is an initiative of Aaron & Jenna-Lea Clarke and friend Mike Durante to raise awareness and vital funds for the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and cancer research. The idea; make a commitment to your friends and family to surf everyday in February, enjoy the transformative, positive force of a daily connection with the ocean - and ask your friends to sponsor you. Pretty simple and something most of us do as a mater of habit anyway. Find out more about SurFebruary and Arron and Jenna's person story here.

At 6am with the sun still 15 minutes from rising, a stiff cross-shore breeze and fresh junky south swell doing it's best to discourage, Jesse Lowe and Stu Bates paddled out on Day Four of SurFebruary and felt better for doing so! The waves weren't amazing, but how good is getting in the ocean!  JLowe had a close call with a stray set of fins and still came in smiling (his board wasn't as lucky though). Want to sponsor a surfer?  Click through for Stu BatesJesse Lowe or myself (yep I'm doing it too!) - It's all going to a good cause and something that'll come close to us as some stage in our lives.

See you out there tomorrow for sure!
