The phantom swell continues to sneak in under the radar this morning. There's some genuine 4 foot sets in the mix and we're talking four wave sets not just rogue singles. Even the local dolphin pod were stoked at the extra size down the beach at mid-Curly. The problem with the bigger south swell is it inevitably ends up being straight... and unfortunately that was mostly the case this morning. 

I just got caught up on all the chatter about about the scoring in the final at the latest WSL event at Kelly's Surf Ranch... i didn't even know it was on. Don't get be wrong, I would love to paddle into a couple of those waves, but the contest doesn't do it for me, it seems to lack that unknown element and spontaneity that holds my attention. This that said, I don't envy the judges; what a tough gig to dissect those routines.

An update from the Volcom Warehouse Sale...  word is they've prices to clear everything. You might want to get down there before it's all vanished.
