Nothingness

Nothingness

It's been a weird and wonderful 24 hours of weather. Rain, thunderstorms, plenty of lightning, a late wind change (waves got pretty fun yesterday afternoon) and thick heavy fog at first light this morning. It's all but cleared now but when I walked out the door this morning, the beach was concealed with only the dark outlines of the Norfolk Pines visible. For me, fog has always been a challenging thing to photography; the eye seems to interpret the wonders of fog a little more generously than the camera. My mind says "this scene looks so cool" but the camera captures a dense mass of grey. More fog, more practice.

One thing that was revealed as the fog lifted was a vigorous little wind swell out of the nor'east whipped up over the last day or so. It's tightly packed, head-high-plus and semi-clean with the odd punchie little corner. Worth a look while the wind holds.
