Count it down, we're about to say farewell to Winter and hello Spring. On a day like this when the wind's onshore, your nose is running and it's cold and raining outside, it's easy to slip into relief for another passing of the Winter season. But what about all the good times we're saying farewell to? Today's post is an ode to the past three months.

I confess, I'm a lover of Winter. I like the clear air and crisp offshores of Winter. I like the way the sun rises later and further to the North casting a different light on our beaches. I love the mood of the ocean in Winter, all-day offshores, Southern Ocean lows, even the cold makes you feel alive. Farewell Winter, see you next year.

Oh hello Spring, I can hardly remember the last time you swung past this way but I'm looking forward to learning your nuances all over again. See you Sunday!

Oh, and btw, Sunday, Monday is looking real nice for us! Sunshine, East swell and light winds - Spring, I think we're going to be friends.
