Hope you caught a glimpse of the sunrise this morning; it was beautiful and apocalyptic all at once. One big red fireball rising out of the sea casting a pinkish hue across the sand. Amazing light at sunrise and sunset has been the silver lining to all these terrible bushfires burning close to Sydney and across the state. It gets us photographer-types a little excited when Hollywood lighting comes to town.

Waves? There's not much at Manly except for the odd long-period 1 footer hitting the Queenscliff rocks every 10-15 minutes. That's a pretty good indicator that there's some south swell on the go and a drive up the beaches would yield a little more joy. I reckon they'd be something...
