Expectations

Pocket of Light

My expectations were knee-high this morning. First glance out the window looked clouded over and with only a little bit of mixed wind swells I figured surfing might have been reserved for the desperate. I even contemplated flipping open the laptop and getting stuck into some admin before sunrise (my emails are out of control right now!).

But, it's worth a proper look no matter your expectations because sometime you just might find you're pleasantly surprised. It's only 2ft and there's a wait between sets but the swell is neat and organised, the waves are running across some good shaped sand and we had an early offshore keeping conditions smooth and silky. Even the light was nice for a bit there. What more could you want to kick off your Tuesday.

It's the last day of Summer but I get the feeling the warm water and weather ain't going to disappear so quickly. It's also the final day of SurFebruary and last I checked they'd reach over $366,000 raised - wow! Know anyone that's surfed the full 28 days of Feb? Give them a nod and a wink; it's last day to search for surfers and donate here.
