Finals Day
It's finals day at the Sydney Surf Pro and the waves have stepped up a notch. It's actually cooking! Even Kaipo Guerrero could say the waves were pumping whilst keeping a straight face. It's 3-4ft with the odd bigger one, the swell swung a touch out of the east and the competitors are scoring. So far everyone seem to be steering clear of the Larry Blair North Steyne left but maybe that'll come into play this afternoon.
First heats in the water this morning were the longboarders. The footpath and benches were chock-a-block with rowdy locals to cheer and shout as Tully & Declan made a tilt for the finals. Unfortunately both fell short on the scoreboard, but geez what an effort! So good to have locals feature on finals day! Big congratulations to both for an equal third place in the first stop of the World Longboard Tour.
Right now, the Men's Semi's are in the water and Indonesia's Rio Waida is on fire! Tune in to the WSL webcast or get down the beach!
