It's the final days of SurFebruary and I reckon almost everyone in the line up today was part of the fundraising effort for Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. One of the benefits of committing to surf everyday in a calendar month is you score the nice quiet days when every stays in bed! Rainy days = Bonus waves for the crew from SurFebruary! Passing showers and broken clouds almost always make for good light, especially at sunrise and sunset. The trick is to be ready when the sun pops and be prepared to get a little wet. I took the easy option and suited up for full immersion - better to wait for the light in the water then duck and dodge the showers! When the sun finally popped out we had some moments of beautiful light punctuated with a full rainbow over the Norfolk Pines. Wish I had my wide angle to capture the whole thing.

The swell's dropped a touch today. Still it's 3ft and there might even be a bit more juice in it once the tide drops a touch. Tomorrow the wind's going to be howling in from the north so best to sample what's left of the swell today while it's still glassy.
