Contestable
I've just made it back to town for the narrow end of the draw at the Sydney Surf Pro. It was actually kinda firing down on the contest back at North Steyne this morning; 2-3ft, clean, peaky, super fun, contestable waves served up. Right now heat 8 of the Men's Round of 16 is in the water with past champion Italian Leo Fioravanti in the water. Rain and onshore are on it now...
It hasn't been a great morning for the local men with Ryan Callinan to sole Aussie left in the draw while Nikki Van Dijk and Sophie McCulloch will be flying the flag for the Australian's in the Quarters this afternoon.
In the Longboard Tour event two local Manly surfers are set to compete in the Semi's of the Mens and Women's events with Declan Wyton and Tully White looking to take out the title. From what I've heard the Longboard Semis heats should be set to run tomorrow but keep an eye on the WSL webcast and be sure to get down on the sand and make some noise when the hooter goes!
Let's hope the rain holds out the a sneaky little offshore breeze kicks in for final day tomorrow.
