Well that swell finally made its presence felt yesterday with solid waves in the morning and then a serious jolt of extra energy in the afternoon. I snuck out of town for a session in the morning before I was locked into afternoon work commitments. I reckon the afternoon doubled in size compared to the morning; the clock struck 12 and it just ramped up - it was proper big!

Photos? Nah sorry; yesterday I spent more time surfing than with camera in hand and nothing I captured through the lens did the waves justice. Sometimes you just gotta go surfing...

This morning the swell's eased back and there looks like a nor'east wind swell is mixed in with the predominant south groundswell. It's kind of junky at Manly with the mixed swell and light onshore. If you had the whole day, I'd go search for somewhere with exposure to the south swell and protection from the northerly wind. I can think of a half dozen spots within driving distance from here... go on, make a long weekend of it! 

Speaking of the weekend, looks like we're in for some hot sunny days. We're talking 30+ degrees, light winds and sunshine. We've got 4 days of summer coming right up!
