Welcome
Quiet Dawn
If you were up early this morning you might have mistaken it for autumn. The cool sou'wester was light and a very welcome relief from the 4 days of relentless southerly winds we've been recently enduring. And the sou'wester was just the wind we needed to groom some order into what has been an unruly swell.
There were some good waves about this morning; some excellent waves as well. Mostly it was guillotine closeouts churning up shallow sand but when the swells teepee'd in at the right angle and hit the right part of the bank, oh boy!
Shoutout and huge congratulations to Queenscliff's Winter Vincent who had a phenomenal run of heats through the World Junior Surfing Championships in the Philippines last week. He was narrowly defeated in a high scoring final to claim Runner Up. Great form and excellent start to a big year for Winter.
