Back in the Brine

Best place for sunrise

I'm back in the brine this morning and oh boy does it feel good! I can't think of a better place to watch the sunrise than from floating with your eyes at sea-level or perched on a slice of foam. It's been six weeks since surgery to remove the "surfers ear" growth on my left ear and I've been dry-docked since then. Makes you realise that we're a lucky bunch to be able to spend regular time in the ocean!

The sunrise this morning was a beauty! A dusty haze hanging on the horizon muted the sun to a faint orange orb rising out of a reflective dark ocean. We've got waves today too! A long period south swell; 2ft with the odd 4 footer storming in every now and then.

Speaking of waves, it's cooking up at North Narrabeen for the final day of stop #3 of the WSL Championship Tour. With so much on the line, it's no surprise the drama levels have also stepped up a notch too. Did you see Italo's heat yesterday? How about that tube of Morgan's this morning? And Gabe... wow, he's on a tear! Go on, you know you want to tune in!
