The rare gem of Carpark Rights is turning on some throaty tubes and heavy water for the WSL's Sydney Surf Pro up at Narrabeen this morning. Since first light the south swell has been angling around the Long Reef headland and feathering towards the rough ground sand bank off the carpark. It's a tricky business but there's some wide open barrels to be found.

The world's best up and coming surfers and the odd World Tour journeyman are putting their bodies and boards on the line today, there's been injuries and snapped boards already.  You can tune in and watch online or roll up anytime between now and Sunday (if it goes that long).  Queenscliff's Alysse Cooper will surf in Heat 2 of the Women's round of 32 up soon.

Should be fun waves and offshore winds about for the weekend.
